I’m still using Read It Later instead of Instapaper and I didn’t have any issue with it. This app is very well designed and allows me to read articles and webpages when I’m out and don’t have 3G or simply build up a list of interesting things for whom I don’t have time right now. I didn’t find an Ubiquity command for it but used instead the create-bookmarklet-command to instantly make a command from each of the official bookmarklets. This way I type my key combination, then “readitlater” and the page is saved in a snap.

I always recommend my friends who still don’t keep a backup copy of their hard disk to start right now, and recently I find myself recommending more often Backblaze, the online backup application that is very Mac-friendly also. The 50$ per year with unlimited storage is a great plan in my opinion.

A cheap Usb external sound card which can help with your Mac

This usb sound card allowed me to use my old, simple Logitec headset with Macs which are known to have an uncommon microphone entry and often require a headset with an usb interface for voip and other voice applications. I say that for $2.14 and free shipping (but it will take a month to arrive at your home) it’s worth trying before buying a new wireless or usb headset instead of your old one with two audio jacks. Of course it’s not of any help if you look for high quality voice recording.

Very very helpful resource if you need to break the annoying DRMs in an Adobe Editions ebook you legally purchased. It’s important to read all of the comments.

So, I served my first Tridentine Mass today. Wow…it was so incredible! There is so much reverance surrounding this Liturgy that it calls anyone attending to recognize the presence of our transcendant God. Especially during the Easter season, there is so much more beauty and reverence than the already abounding gifts the Liturgy brings by the very action of it being said and participated in.

Congrats! That’s what I think when I attend to traditional Mass, that there is great reverence to the presence of God.

I love backups

I want to tell again to a few friends of mine out there who don’t do backups how important that is. A small suggestion to Mac users: first copy your entire disk with Time Machine without any exception; second, use Backblaze that runs in the background without being noticed and back up the majority of your disk online so that even if you lose the external disk or the apartment goes on fire your files are safe in their datacenter.

Everybody knows Time Machine or SuperDuper, while Backblaze is still less famous. It’s a small preference pane that continuously backs up your disk for a low price like 5$ per month or 50$ per year for an unlimited storage! Of course you need good bandwidth for this and the first of the incremental backups can be a few days long but afterwards the process speeds up. You just may want to exclude those folders that contain 5gb mkv films because by the time you have uploaded them, you may already have watched and deleted them :) Once you back up all of my documents, photos and music from my Mac with all your top most important data you could choose not to upload those big folders containing entire 720p Tv series you are just going to see once. Finally, in order to have access to your files on the go or to share them with friends and coworkers you can also add Dropbox, which is a beautiful app for that.

So Time Machine/SuperDuper plus Backblaze plus Dropbox can be a pretty complete solution to secure your files, in my humble opinion.

E allora ribadiamolo, il concetto: la superiorità del cattolico sul moralista laico sta tutta nel concetto di perdono. Chi sa di essere solo un povero peccatore tra i tanti non si permette di giudicare; il razional-livoroso al contrario fa il tronfio quando pesca l’altrui peccato e alza il ditino persino quando la morale tradita non è la sua.
